Reader Review of “Travel Bites” by The Hungry Traveller:
“I bought this book recommended to me by a colleague and was pleasantly surprised what a great read it was. I tend to loose interest in books if they’re not to my liking although I found it very hard to put this book down. The fact that it is a collaboration of short stories, means you can either read them all in one go (as I did) or browse through them when you get a spare 10 mins (lunch, train journeys etc). The stories include experiences and dishes from Aus, Zanzibar, the Far East and even North America to name a few. I enjoyed the fact that I could relate to some of the short stories during my previous travels and also found other stories to be intriguing which have now become part of my “to-do” list for future travels. At the end of each short story there are also different recipes to try if you’re feeling a little adventurous!
Overall a very easy and relaxing read with some great looking recipes and tips on local customs (e.g. tea drinking in Turkey) and bartering / negotiating in different countries.
I would recommend this to anyone who is keen on travelling and trying different things or experiencing different cultures during their travels abroad.”
